Then take time to enjoy the balancing and healing benefits of Usai Reiki.

By placing the hands at different points over the body, the universal healing energy of Usai Reiki will activate the body’s natural healing processes to help the body to restore it’s emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.

The history of Usai Reiki

The name “Reiki” comes from the two Japanese words ‘Rei’ meaning higher knowledge or spiritual consciousness and ‘Ki’ meaning life force or energy that flows through all living things.

Therefore, Reiki is a spiritually guided life or Universal life force.

The name ‘Usai’ originates from the Buddha, Dr Mikao Usai who was a principal at the Doshisha University in Kyoto during the late 1880’s.

It was from Dr Usai’s inconclusive research about healing methods used by Jesus Christ that he turned to the ancient Buddhist Sutras (holy writings).

Dr Usai went on a pathway towards enlightenment which involved the healing of the body, mind, emotion and spirit.

Through his studies, Dr Usai learned the healing techniques which had been passed down verbally via some of the traditional monasteries which were home to texts, describing the healing formulae.

However, there was no information to show how initially the healing mechanisms could be activated.

So Dr Usai went to Mount Koriyama for 21 days to embark on an inner journey with Spirit, seeking guidance through meditation and prayer.

Dr Usai laid out 21 stones, to resemble each day he discarded one stone at dusk.

Just before dawn on the final morning, Dr Usai saw a projectile of light coming towards him.  The light struck his ‘third eye’ causing him to lose consciousness, during which he was given an image of millions of rainbow bubbles, the necessary symbols together with the knowledge of how use them to activate the healing energy.

During his descent from the mountain top, Dr Usai applied his new skills to those in pain or suffering.

Dr Usai named the energy ‘Reiki’ and set out to spread the word through Japan.

 How does Reiki work?

The practitioner acts as a channel for Reiki to pass through to the client, balancing the client’s energy field and allowing healing to take place.

For example, the cause of a headache may be located in the digestive system.

With Reiki you do not need to know this connection consciously to enable healing to take place.  The energy will flow to the correct area that needs to be healed.

If the same headache was linked to disturbances in the auric fields at the emotional or spiritual level of the individual, these will also be balanced.

Reiki balances the emotional, mental, physical and spiritual vibrational bodies of an individual; allowing them to release any blocked energy and feel energised.
